Mr. V Subramanian
|
Mr. V Subramanian joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1971 and has since occupied many key senior positions in the Government of India in his celebrated career spanning 37 years. He has extensive experience in the field dealing with law and order, land management, development administration, welfare, etc. While working as Secretary & later Principal Secretary, made significant contribution to labour welfare and changed the focus of private and public sector from one of labour management to human resource management. As Secretary (Power), introduced Time of the Day tariff for industrial consumers for the first time in India and took various other initiatives. During this period, the State turned the corner and became a power-surplus State.
While working as Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, pioneered several important initiatives for reforms and development of Renewable Energy Sector, including introduction of “Feed-in Tariff” concept in the form of generation based incentives, Integrated Energy Policy, Solar PV Grid Interactive Scheme, that made renewable energy as a crucial mitigating option in the strategy to combat climate change.
He currently advises the Council of Industrial and Scientific Research at New Delhi in a Consulting role.

Dr. Nitindra Nath Som

Dr. Nitindra Nath Som is a Civil & Geotechnical Engineer with over 40 years in teaching, research, administration, industrial consultancy, design, construction & quality control in areas of civil & geotechnical engineering, with expertise in complexities of foundations of high rise buildings, underground construction, highways, embankments, ground improvement & geo-environmental engineering. He is affiliated with many renowned Institutes and professional societies, e.g., Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering, the Institution of Engineers (India), Indian Geotechnical Society & many others.
Dr. Som has served as Dean, the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Jadavpur University, India and as Lecturer and professor of civil engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. His has been involved with the design and construction of some of the largest civil engineering projects in India including the Kolkata and Delhi Metro Rail Projects. Currently a Director of Simplex Projects Ltd, and GPT Infraprojects Ltd, Kolkata, Dr. Som is also a Senior Advisory Consultant at Stup Consultants, Kolkata.
Dr. Som is a First Class topper in Civil Engineering from Jadavpur University, India. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma and Doctor of Philosophy from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London. He is widely traveled and has many international publications to his credit, including the widely acclaimed and followed Prentice Hall Publication “Theory and Practice of Foundation Design”.

Dr. Shailendra K. Vajpeyee

Dr. S.K. Vajpeyee, M.D., has over thirty years of professional experience in teaching and administration. Currently serving as the Dean and Ex-Officio Professor of Pharmacology, Govt. Medical College, Surat, India, he is also associated with some of the largest and most well known corporate houses in India on issues of health and health education. He has stewarded extra-ordinary natural disaster situations in the state of Gujarat, like the Plague epidemic in 1994 and the earthquake in 2000.
Dr. Vajpayee’s contribution to the sector of health has been recognized through multiple national and international awards. To name a few, he has been the proud recipient of the
Dr. Y. Subbarao Memorial National Award by International College of Nutrition for contribution to the field of Medical Research and Health and the National Award of the Millennium by the International Congress on Atherosclerosis, Hypertension and Coronary Artery Disease for contribution for the advancement of knowledge in Cardiovascular Diseases.
Dr. Vajpeyee has been actively involved with more than a dozen professional organizations in India and overseas and has had first hand experience of health systems in a large number of countries across Europe, North America and the Far East.

Dr. Raghunandan Prasad Singhal

Dr. R P Singhal is an accomplished scientist of international repute in the areas of Dimensional Metrology, Physico-Mechanical, Length & Dimension and Temperature Standards.
A Mechanical Engineer by training, he obtained his PhD from the University of Delhi, India and has been largely associated on various scientific and technology assignments with the National Physical Laboratory, which is the premier research laboratory in India in the field of physical sciences. Through the depth of research work spanning years, Dr Singhal has designed and developed many scientific innovations, has multiple technology patents to his credit and has authored many research publications which are respected around the world.
Dr. Singhal has also been involved as the Technical and Lead Assessor of the National Accreditation Board for Testing & Calibration Laboratories, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India for over 20 years. He has also been a technology consultant to some of the largest corporations in India.
Dr Singhal has had extensive international interactions in terms of training, assessing, speaking at forums and conferences, and consulting. He is attached at the helm with many international associations and professional societies in large contributing roles and advises them on strategic scientific and technology issues.
